The sound of revving engines and the shine of polished chrome will once again fill Fountain as the annual Thunder in the Valley Car Show returns July 10-11 for one of the community's signature summer events.

Now in its 22nd year, Thunder in the Valley has grown into a beloved tradition that draws hundreds of car enthusiasts and spectators from across Colorado. The nonprofit event celebrates automotive history while raising thousands of dollars each year to benefit local charities and community programs.

Festivities begin Friday with a police- and fire-escorted cruise through Fountain, giving residents the opportunity to see classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, trucks, customs, and motorcycles rolling through the city. Registered participants will also enjoy a community barbecue and poker run to kick off the weekend.

The main car show takes place Saturday at Metcalfe Park, 704 E. Ohio Ave., where visitors can browse a wide variety of vehicles representing nearly every era and style of automotive craftsmanship. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy live music, food vendors, raffle prizes, awards, and family-friendly activities while meeting vehicle owners from across the Front Range.

Founded in 2004, Thunder in the Valley has become more than just a car show. It has evolved into a community celebration that highlights Fountain's welcoming spirit while supporting local causes. Organizers report the event raises more than $10,000 annually for charities and programs that serve the Fountain Valley community.

Whether you're a lifelong automotive enthusiast or simply looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, Thunder in the Valley offers an opportunity to enjoy classic vehicles, connect with neighbors, and experience one of Fountain's longest-running summer traditions.
