Phase 3 Construction Begins at Main Street and Norman Drive in Security-Widefield
Drivers in Security-Widefield should expect changes near the intersection of Main Street and Norman Drive as Phase 3 of a roadway improvement project gets underway the week of Sept. 28.
As construction begins, Norman Drive will be fully closed at Main Street, while Main Street will remain open to traffic. The closure is expected to last approximately three to four weeks, weather permitting.
The latest phase of the project will include improvements designed to enhance the intersection and pedestrian access. Work includes new pedestrian crossings, concrete upgrades, minor traffic signal improvements and electrical work.
El Paso County is reminding drivers to slow down and use caution when traveling through the construction area. Motorists should watch for workers, construction equipment, signs and barricades and follow posted traffic directions.
Additional information about this project and other El Paso County capital improvement projects is available through the county’s Public Works department.
