Mesa Road, Cross Creek to See Closures for Widefield Water Pipeline Project
Drivers in the Widefield area should prepare for temporary road closures as the Widefield Water and Sanitation District prepares to begin work on a new water pipeline.
Construction is expected to begin as early as next week and will affect portions of Mesa Road and Cross Creek as crews work to install the new pipeline.
A section of Mesa Road will be fully closed during the project. Drivers will also encounter a partial closure along Cross Creek, located behind the Safeway, as construction crews move through the area.
The closures are expected to create temporary changes for residents, shoppers and commuters who regularly use the roads, particularly those traveling through the area during the day.
The project is currently expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, although the schedule may be affected by construction conditions.
Once the pipeline installation is finished, much of the affected roadway will be re-paved as part of the project, helping restore the roads following construction.
Drivers traveling through the area are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional time for their trips and follow posted detours and construction signage.
The pipeline project is part of the district's ongoing work to maintain and improve its water infrastructure serving the Widefield community.
