House Fire Contained in Fountain; One Resident Hospitalized

A residential fire near the intersection of Marksheffel Road and Bonnie Cap Lane prompted a large emergency response Thursday evening, drawing assistance from multiple fire agencies across the region.
Fire crews worked to bring the blaze under control, successfully extinguishing the fire by approximately 7:30 p.m. Officials reported that no firefighters were injured while battling the incident.
One resident was transported to a local hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation. The individual's condition has not been released.
Several neighboring departments assisted Fountain Fire Department personnel during the response, including crews from Security Fire Department, Hanover Fire Department, Colorado Springs Fire Department, and Fort Carson Fire & Emergency Services. In addition to providing firefighters on scene, Colorado Springs Fire Department staffed Fountain Fire Station No. 2 during the incident to ensure emergency coverage remained available for other calls within the community.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Fountain Fire Department expressed its appreciation to the assisting agencies for their support and coordinated response.
