Foster the Future Fun Run Returns to Fountain This Saturday

Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 is reminding the community to lace up their running shoes this weekend for the Foster the Future Fun Run, a 5K fun run and walk set for Saturday, Sept. 26, at Trojan Arena in Fountain.

The event will begin at 9 a.m., with packet pickup scheduled from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive no later than 8:30 a.m.

This year's theme, “From the Frontier to the Future,” invites participants to celebrate history by dressing as their favorite historical figure while taking part in a morning of fitness, fun and community spirit.

The event also serves a larger purpose, with proceeds supporting programs that directly assist local families. Funds raised will benefit the Fountain-Fort Carson Food Pantry, Clothing Closet and suicide prevention efforts.

Participants ages 5 and older can receive a race T-shirt. While the early registration deadline to guarantee a shirt has passed, community members can still check registration availability and event information through the district.

The Foster the Future Fun Run will take place at Trojan Arena, 10725 Trojan Pt., Fountain.

Whether participants choose to run, walk or simply come out to support their neighbors, the event offers an opportunity to celebrate Fountain-Fort Carson's history while contributing to programs that support the community.
