Air Force Academy Prepares for Bruno Mars Concerts
Preparations are underway at the U.S. Air Force Academy for Bruno Mars’ upcoming concerts at Falcon Stadium, with officials implementing updated traffic, parking and security procedures.
Bruno Mars is scheduled to perform Sept. 26 and 27 as part of his The Romantic Tour. The concerts are expected to draw roughly 34,000 people each night.
Venue officials say traffic plans have been revised to reduce congestion around Stadium Boulevard. Event coordinator Nick Kiger told KRDO that officials have created “a couple different routes” to spread traffic out and “ease the crush” near the stadium.
Officials say the updated procedures are intended to improve the flow of vehicles and fans following traffic challenges at previous large events at Falcon Stadium.
Gates are scheduled to open at 3 p.m., and officials are encouraging fans to arrive early. Rideshare services including Uber and Lyft will use designated pickup and drop-off areas near Falcon Stadium.
Concertgoers should also expect enhanced security screening. The Academy will enforce a clear-bag policy, allowing clear bags up to 12-by-12-by-12 inches, along with small clutches or fanny packs.
For concertgoers, the message is simple: arrive early, follow posted traffic directions and review the stadium’s prohibited-items policy before heading to the show.
